[Explained] A store has a banner of 25% off on mrp of all branded items

A store has a banner of 25% off on mrp of all branded items. Sheetal goes into the store and buys a belt worth rs. 75, a shirt of rs. 1,999 and a shawl of rs. 2,900. How much amount will she have to pay?

To solve this question we need to have understanding of calculating profit and loss and percentage.

25% off on all items means the selling price will be 25% less than the price which is displayed in the store. so actually Sheetal need to pay only 75% because 25% is the discount . So we will calculate 75% of all items

so first we calculate

price of belt = 75% of 75 = .75x 75= 56.25

Price of Shirt = 75% of 1999 = .75x 1999=1499.25

Price of Shawl = 75% of 2900= .75x 2900=2175

So total = 56.25 + 1499.25 + 2175 = 3730.5

A store has a banner of 25% off how much Sheetal pays?

Answer is : Sheetal only pays 75% of the total bill
